Dunas de yeso
Gypsum dunes offer a majestic, one-of-a-kind landscape. Mountains and horizons made up of bright white sand and minerals are the setting for a unique experience. This white sand desert will make you experience unique sensations.
We will pick you up at 7:00 am. to start the 3-hour journey to the north of Coahuila. Until we reach the town of Cuatrociénegas, where we will make a stop to rest and start the excursion.
The first stop will be to visit the "Blue Pond" a living ecosystem with stromatolites at the bottom of the water which gives it its turquoise color and crystalline spring waters. Right there is the "Poza de las tortugas" and the "Paseo del Borbollón".
After La Poza, we move to the Plaster Dunes, where the photographs will not be long in coming. The excursion is recommended to be done without shoes to live the full experience and protect the site.
Optionally we can enter the "Rio Mezquites" where a river formed with spring water that emerges from the desert subsoil awaits us, travels 20 kilometers and submerges back to earth. Here there are kayaking activities and you can enjoy its turquoise blue waters and swim among turtles. And there will be a time to eat.
Before finishing the tour, we will stop at the "Vitali" wine shop to take home an artisanal wine and typical sweets from the region. And finally we will arrive at the main square of Cuatrociénegas to visit the Parish of San José.
At the end of the tour we will drop you back at your hotel.
We make small groups to avoid crowds and live an extraordinary experience. Ask about the "Private Tours" option.
